The Thar Collection

The Thar Collection is an Artisan collaboration with furniture design firm, Karle. Vintage hand-sewn applique'  pieces derived from traditional tents used by the nomadic peoples of the Indian desert now float within the mid-century modern Karle frames. 

The word ‘Thar’ derives from the word, ‘Thul,’ which means ‘sand.’ These textiles that have been an intrinsic part of the cultural heritage of the villages near the border of Pakistan in the Thar Desert since the 8th century.
